  1. I've only recently in the past two years found the closest truth that my being knows to actually feeling the presence of God within me. Not being told who God is by someone else but actually experiencing the light of God within me. These ancient mystical practices that I've learned and do each day have unwinded the attachment I had to myself and have opened the door to deep healing in my heart unraveling the veils that cover me from past hurts and experiences. Recognizing the heart and soul and secret within are the truth and the awe and the intimacy of who I really am. What freedom comes from this. I practice Sufism and am a Sufi Healer, this beautiful path has brought much love and deep heart-centered healing to my life.

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I have not lived.” Henry David Thoreau

I kinda believe in transcendentalism. Only in nature can one find their Self, their truth, and their soul. Whether it's on a beach, a mountain, or whatever. Only in the quiet and tranquility of nature does my soul truly recharge. It certainly doesn't happen in a Starbucks.

  5. i could use a good karmic cleansing, too, jill! though i have no idea what it entails. if you find out, let us all know! xox

anony, i love your thoreau quote. connecting with nature grounds us to earth and keeps our root chakra in balance. (something i need to work on!) and i agree that transcendetalism is an extraordinary movement.

here's a beautiful quote from one of thoreau's buddies, walt whitman: ‎"I know I am deathless. No doubt I have died myself ten thousand times before. I laugh at what you call dissolution, and I know the amplitude of time."

and i also agree that thoreau or whitman would not understand my love for a big comfy chair and a caramel apple ciders at starbucks. bummer. ;-)
